Rory Bannerman
Director
My name is Rory Bannerman and I have been working for Bannerman Burke for over 30 years in our Hawick office.
I undertake a number of extra roles throughout Scotland in tribunals and as a part-time Summary Sheriff but always remember my roots and I am in the Hawick office at least three days a week dealing with all ranges of client issues.
My interests are family, sport and music.


Heidi Kandyba-Callis
Director
I joined Bannerman Burke Law in 2017 and became a partner in 2020.
I deal with all types of property work and have expertise in commercial and residential conveyancing, working with both business and private clients.
I have a particular interest in rural & agricultural work and also deal with general chamber work such as transfers of title, Wills and Powers of Attorney.
Outside of work, I enjoy horse riding and in particular eventing.
Lauren Renwick
Director
I joined Bannerman Burke Law in 2020 after graduating from university. I began training with the firm in 2021 and qualified as a solicitor in 2023 before being appointed Director in March 2026.
I enjoy helping clients on a wide range of legal matters, with a particular focus on private client work including Estates, Wills and Powers of Attorney. Outside of work, my main interest is music

I have worked for the firm of Bannerman Burke Law (formerly Thomas Purdom & Sons) since I left the school, 34 years ago! I have worked my way up in the firm starting as Office Junior, I then went on to work for the Senior Partner at the time Sandy Bannerman as his Secretary for very many years, I also completed a Paralegal course in conveyancing. I now work part time as a legal assistant to the Solicitors assisting them with Executries and Wills.
Lynsay Moor

I began working for Bannerman Burke Law as a receptionist in July of 2022. During my time on reception, I also dealt with all Legal Aid applications as well as drafting and registering Power of Attorneys. As of January 2024, I started a new role within the company as a junior cashier and have enjoyed learning how to handle financial transactions for the business. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music and catching up with friends.
Tyisha Johnstone

Tracey Jackson

Tracey joined the firm in 1994 as Assistant Cashier and has now progressed to the position of Cashier. She completed classes provided through The Society of Law Accountants (SOLAS) and is now a full member of the Society. As well as dealing with the day-to-day tasks of the financial side of the business she assists with preparation of the Executry accounts. Tracey has 2 dogs so enjoys walking in the local countryside and taking photographs. She also enjoys watching films, listening to music, and going to live shows & concerts.
Erin Landels

I have been with the firm since I left school in the summer of 2023. Bannerman Burke Law has always been a familiar setting for me as my mum (Pamela) has been with the firm for nearly 37 years now! When the opportunity came up, I knew I would love to be a part of the BBL team. I am currently the receptionist and enjoy greeting all our clients.
Stacey Moor

I have been working at Bannerman Burke Law as a secretary since November 2021.
I originally started working in dictation for the courts and have since moved into the conveyancing department, where I will be working with purchases, sales, and transfers. Outside of work I am studying for an Honours Degree in Business Management, through which I have also touched on business and contract law.

I started working at Bannerman Burke Law in August 2023 and have had to opportunity to work in most departments of the firm and I am now working for senior partner Rory Bannerman as his junior legal secretary preparing all court documents and dealing with legal aid and private clients.
Alix Martin

I graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in July 2025 with a Criminology Degree, and I started working for Bannerman Burke Law in the August. I work for Senior Partner Rory Bannerman as his legal secretary, preparing all court documents and dealing with his private and Legal Aid clients.
Niamh Turnbull

I graduated with a Scots law degree from Edinburgh Napier University in 2023 and went on to gain my diploma in professional legal practice at the University of Edinburgh in 2024
I started with Bannerman Burke Law in September 2025 as a trainee solicitor after reassigning my training contract. I work in the court department, dealing with a range of matters
